Teacher Leader Support

CEI will provide multi-tiered support to instructional staff that is flexible to meet their unique needs. This professional development will be highly customized to each cohort of teachers and led by a team of local instructional coaches. The following describes the structure and key principles of the learning experience; each teacher will participate in:

● The teacher leaders will participate in one-on-one coaching sessions to address the specific needs of the school and teaching staff. CEI will use the needs assessment to guide the direction of coaching sessions. CEI proposes to conduct 1-hour coaching sessions once a month for the duration of the 10-month academic schedule. In total, teacher leaders will receive 10 hours of 1:1 coaching each year.

● Structured monthly small group, cohort coaching that engages teacher leaders in professional development that focuses on, but is not limited to, content-specific instructional strategies, effective data use, facilitating student discourse, utilizing ed-tech tools, and fostering equitable classrooms. Teacher leaders will be organized into cohorts, based on their specific needs. Cohorts will meet for one hour per month across the 10-month academic schedule.

● Asynchronous professional development modules on core leadership topics, designed by CEI, will support the continued learning, 1:1 coaching sessions, and the cohort coaching.
