Coaching Model for School District Leaders of Turnaround Districts
The critical success of a school turnaround effort depends on the school district’s support system. Therefore, it is imperative for the school district superintendent to advocate for this process as well as remove the barriers, monitor the change process, monitor student progress, and establish the structures and systems for the execution of the turnaround plan.
School turnaround is a tremendous challenge, therefore, CEI has developed a coaching framework to support superintendents as they implement school turnaround initiatives in their schools. The model is based on the latest research on transformative and transformational leadership, coaching approaches based on the International Coaching Federation’s core competencies, and the knowledge and skills superintendents will need to design, implement, and monitor a school turnaround initiative. Below is a brief outline of some of the topics included in the CEI Coaching Approach for Turnaround Superintendents.
