Innovation on Full Display at Leaders of Tomorrow Robotics & AI Showcase

Students at Leaders of Tomorrow Middle School in the Bronx recently had an opportunity to put their learning into practice as part of a showcase highlighting the work completed through CEI's Robotics and AI programs.

More than 200 seventh-grade Robotics students, led by Cedric Voufo, participated in a culminating robot boxing competition. The event represented months of work in which students designed and constructed their robots before putting them through repeated rounds of coding and testing.

The eighth-grade AI capstone students, guided by Eldryn Steele, approached innovation from a different direction. The students developed applications intended to address needs they had identified within their own school community. Some projects focused on helping students stay organized, while others addressed attendance and daily planning.

Together, the two programs demonstrated the value of giving students room to take ownership of their work. Whether they were refining a robot or developing an application, students had to make decisions and ultimately learn from the results of their individual choices.

CEI is proud of the students and instructors who made the showcase possible, along with the families and Leaders of Tomorrow community who supported their work. The event offered a meaningful look at what students can accomplish when they are given the opportunity to turn what they learn into something of their own.
