This summer, CEI’s Esports launched its exciting summer program at Leaders of Tomorrow M.S 370 in the Bronx. The program has provided a rewarding opportunity to educate and inspire students through the fast-growing world of esports and competitive gaming. From exploring the history of gaming and discussing the path to becoming a professional player to examining the many career opportunities beyond playing, these sessions have sparked curiosity and broadened horizons for all participants. It’s been great to hear students engage in thoughtful conversations about esports, from both the business and gaming perspectives.
More than just games, students are discovering how the skills they develop through gaming, such as teamwork, critical thinking, and perseverance, can translate meaningfully into everyday life and future careers.
The students in the summer program have been an absolute pleasure to work with. One of the standout favorite games has been NBA 2K25, sparking both excitement and camaraderie. Whether it’s friendly banter during matches or helping one another master dribble moves, it has been incredibly rewarding to see how the game brings them together. Watching the students grow—not just in skill, but also in teamwork and communication—has truly been a highlight of the program.
