CEI Arts Education is proud to celebrate the incredible work of over 3,000 students from all five boroughs, participating in our student arts residency programs in visual art, music, dance, theater, and spoken word. We thank our valued partner schools for helping make this year successful and inspiring.
In addition to 3K-12 arts education programs including Latin dance, puppet making, creative writing, murals, percussion, graphic novels, and yoga — as well as 20 bench murals on display in parks citywide this summer — we partnered with schools in year-end celebrations.
One June highlight was the “Peace Day” event at P.S. 251 Paerdegat in Brooklyn. CEI’s multiple arts residencies culminated in this school-wide event. The school community came alive with creativity as students showcased skills they developed through CEI’s arts education programs. Students participated in final performances in African dance, capoeira, and a musical theater work.
“Your [CEI’s] dedication and creativity in combining different genres of arts and dance truly made the event a memorable experience for our entire PS 251 community.. Your [CEI’s] efforts not only showcased the talents of our students but also enriched their understanding of diverse dance forms and cultural traditions. The presentation was a beautiful celebration of unity, creativity, and cultural appreciation, and it wouldn’t have been possible without your hard work,” said Principal Sheldon Noel, P.S. 251 Paerdegat.
Here’s to another year of creativity, collaboration, and growth!
